Tips for Success with TRACS
- Download and Start Using Firefox
- Pasting from Word into a Forum Post
- Learning Modules Print View
- Opening Articles in Alkek Databases
You will have fewer problems using TRACS and viewing the videos in this course if you use the Firefox browser. You can download the browser for free at http://www.getfirefox.com.
If you prefer that new pages open in a new window rather than in a new tab, select Options from the Tools menu in Firefox in Windows (or select Preferences from the Firefox menu on a Macintosh). Then, click Tabs and select the option that opens new windows in a tab.

When pasting text from Word into a Forum post, use the Paste from Word icon, as shown below, to prevent the text from including HTML formatting code.
You can view and print all of the sections in a module by clicking the Print icon, as shown below. Note that you can access documents and other materials by clicking the links in the Print window.
You may find links in your course to journal articles in Alkek Library databases. After you click the link in TRACS, click a full-text link in the upper left-hand corner of the database page. Link examples are shown below and can include:
- Linked Full Text
- Check if library has full text
- PDF Full Text
- HTML Full Text
Then, follow the links that open the article.
